An article about our new postgraduate study on Cleantech Management was published in M-Blad: Postgraduaat Cleantechmanagement.

Our new Interreg project on Education for the Biobased economy has started, and our efforts to create this future-oriented education have been picked up by Limburg Actueel.

Nele Witters of our group was nominated as one of the leading “Scientific Talents” by New Scientist in 2016, and the article can be found here. In 2017, she also got accepted in the Young Academy, the independent group of young top-researchers of Belgium. The press release can be found here.

In his course “Micro-economics” Tom Kuppens made his students set up an action for the annual “Music for Life” charity program, and this was covered in Het Belang van Limburg, and De Standaard. Tom Kuppens also contributed to the organization of the Fair Trade Week, and because of this, Hasselt University has been awarded the QUE-award in 2017. The QUE-award is a national award for an educational institution that invests in sensitization of students on Fair Trade. You can read all about it here and here.

Together with Tim Nawrot, Silvie Daniels of our group gave a presentation for the province on the effects of nature on health. An article about this can be found in De Standaard and Het Belang van Limburg.

The Belgian federation for agriculture and economy has awarded Janka Schoenwinkel of our  group for the best doctoral thesis in Belgium for the period 2016-2018. She won the price with her work “A novel way of approaching farm-specific climate change adaptation”
